6th August 2018 - Veseli and the palace.

Kms today = 189 (to Vienna)
Kms to date = 6,573

Colin was riding to Vienna to meet up with Morag but I stayed in Southern Bohemia. Danny and I left Telc just after Colin. We only had around 80kms to do to the village of Veseli but even then we managed to get caught up in the dreaded roadworks. We eventually arrived at Danny's cousin Pavel and his wife Helena's house at around midday. We had lunch in the garden with Pavel. Helena generously offered to do our washing as I had run  out of clean gear. We rode the bikes to our flash accommodation in the next village called Zisov. It is a restored farmhouse with everything that opens and shuts. Helena's daughter Eva and husband Peter own it.

Eva and Peter our hosts at the "Farmhouse". Eva seriously injured her knee hence the crutches.
It is their retirement house. They would only be early to mid forties now??? That's planning !!! Pavel came round and drove us to the pub in town. After a while Danny's brother Max arrived and joined us. He had ridden from Prague on his triumph roadster.
In the pub,  left to right, Max,  Pavlik and Helena.
After a few beers Helena drove  us back to the farmhouse. In Czech you can't drive with any alcohol. Pavel rode Helena's bike back to their place. Apparently they don't breath test cyclists. The farmhouse is an amazing place. It has a big courtyard around which there are various buildings. The building at the front by the main gate is actually a Distillery where Peter distills the fruit in his garden and anybody else's fruit who wants their own hooch.
The front gate of the "Farmhouse" with the usual suspects.
Distillery to the right.
The building we stayed in had full blown bar on the ground floor. The sleeping accommodation was upstairs in the roof space. Luckily we had air-conditioning in our room as the weather was still very hot.
The Distillery from inside the compound.

Danny, Peter and Max inside the Distillery.
Our room is the top right window.

Even got undercover bike parking!!
Helena turned up on her bicycle with our washing all neatly pressed. Very impressed.
Later Danny, Max, Pavel and I went to dinner in a restaurant in a hotel near the two rivers that flow through Veseli. After we got back to the "Farmhouse" Max's son Martin and Danny's friend Jirka arrived. I was sharing the air-conditioned room with Max, Martin and Jirka. Danny had a bed in the other room which wasn't air-conditioned. We had a few beers at the local pub down the road and hit the sack.
